Early Years Katherine Semar Infant School Early Years

At Katherine Semar Infant School we take pride in our school and its community, especially the warm, safe and friendly atmosphere we share.  We want our children to be happy, motivated, interested, enthusiastic and successful learners now and throughout their lives.  We seek to encourage them to welcome change and to be ready to adapt to it confidently.

Our curriculum is planned to provide a rich variety of first hand experiences for children to try new possibilities alongside learning the early skills which will support all future learning.

Mrs Puxley

Mrs Julie Puxley
Head Teacher

We are pleased that Mrs Julie Puxley has taken on the role of Head Teacher of our school.

Mrs Puxley is already known within Saffron Walden, having taught at R A Butler, where she was awarded the national "Teacher of the Year" for her contribution to the profession.  Since then she has worked as a Deputy Head at Elsenham and Whittlesford schools.

We are confident that Mrs Puxley will continue to develop our outstanding school in the coming years and look forward to welcoming her to the next stage of an already outstanding career.

Diary and Events

Our school always has a wide variety of events going on. We currently run five after school clubs and each year we hold a number of fancy dress parades, charitable events, class assemblies, visitors to the school and school trips. For more information on any planned event please contact the school office.

Class 2HG Assembly 20.1.12

In Class 2HG's assembly Meg and Dan pretended to be news reporters.  Our assembly was about Fairy Tales.  Some people were dressed as fairy tale characters and we told everyone fairy tale jokes too and they were very funny.

We enjoyed doing our assembly.

On Friday 13th January we held a special assembly for Mrs Babbage as she has worked in our school for 20 years this January.  All the classes in school made special cards and we even had four Year 3 Children join our assembly to share their special memories of Mrs Babbage.  Have a look at the pictures of a very surprised Mrs Babbage !
